Job Description: 

A designer will drive growth and meet revenue goals by creatively solving design challenges for clients. As a designer at Crown Point Builders, Inc., your role will be to ensure an excellent Client experience and provide detailed project scopes and construction plans. You will also collaborate with the Production Team throughout the project lifecycle to share information and verify adherence to plans. Being an effective listener and communicator is essential, as this position facilitates and coordinates client and team interaction. Handling 3 - 12 projects at a time is to be expected. Time in field/office is about 10/90.

Required Experience: 

  • Basic business math with some geometry

Preferred Experience:

  • ProKitchen and Chief Architect Software or similar

Responsibilities: 

  • Act as an example of Company Goals and Mission and adhere to Company Code of Conduct

  • Maintain a presence in the community and promote the Company mission

  • Maintain a broad knowledge of the local market and target client expectations

  • Meet monthly/quarterly/annual sales, and revenue projections

  • Participate in setting prices, determining required margins, and establishing project mix

  • Develop and maintain current knowledge of competitor policies, programs, pricing, and products, as well as consumer demographics and economic influences

  • Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and zoning laws

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and budgets are adhered to

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and correspondence

  • Maintain and document consistent, positive communication with clients

Duties:  

  • Utilize active listening to identify real team and client challenges

  • Create and develop architectural designs and concepts for various types of projects

  • Collaborate with Production teams to ensure design integrity and quality

  • Produce detailed drawings, plans, and specifications using design and database software

  • Produce compelling design presentations including material, color, and finish selection options

  • Create and close Purchase Agreements and Contracts

  • Conduct site visits and surveys to gather information necessary for design development

  • Communicate with clients to understand needs and preferences

  • Facilitate and document regular client communication

  • Ensure project selections and approvals are completed in Database in a timely manner

  • Facilitate and attend job progress/status meetings with Production team on a Weekly and monthly basis

  • Attend public and marketing events, exhibits, seminars, etc

  • Plan and coordinate open houses, events, etc.

  • Coordinate, plan, and implement events, signage, branding materials, etc.

  • Monitor market trends and customer preferences to help determine focus of sales efforts

  • Help to compile market analysis information and national/local market trends

  • Utilize and adapt to new forms of technology, software, etc

  • Seek out and learn new information readily

  • Retain a broad variety of product and materials catalogues

Required education: Minimum 2 years advanced education or 2+ years experience
