Sleek and Comfy

When one has chosen to build a one bedroom, ONE CLOSET home, you expect it to be over the top. This closet doesn’t disappoint.  The leopard wallpaper, while vibrant, plays nicely with the natural bamboo closet system. This Customer spent hours measuring and planning where each item was going to be stored, and this attention to detail really paid off. Just as the old adage says: “A place for everything, and everything in its place”.

This home exudes the epitome of sleek modern design, with its galley kitchen and the beautiful angled quartz countertop.  The rich walnut cabinets offer a playful nod to the Mid-Century Modern design aesthetic as well. I really love how this style lets each element stand on its own.  I would encourage those with a more traditional design sense to maybe consider adding one modern element to their kitchen design.

The dark Jasper cabinetry in this bathroom plays point/counterpoint to the soothing gray floor tile that runs through the bathroom into the walk-in shower. This cabinetry leans modern with a playful nod to the Mid-Century vibe as well.  The huge gold mirror brightens the entire room and keeps the Jasper cabinets from looking too “Moody”, it also ties the faucet and cabinet hardware together seamlessly.

When planning a new home we often hear: I “Need” XYZ sq. ft., I “Need” a minimum of 3 bathrooms, I “Need” all of these things for resale, for “They” tell me it will never sell with out these things. This Homeowner took a different approach, she chose to build a one bedroom, one bath home for one person. This bathroom exudes simple luxury, high end cabinetry, large format tiled floor that flows smoothly into the massive shower. Her only concession to “they” was to add a second door from the hallway into the bathroom.  This idea is called right sizing and jewel boxing. Choosing a smaller footprint and then adding mor expensive/luxurious finishes.

A popular element of a modern kitchen is a cooking grotto flanked by open shelves. This kitchen has the perfect combination of tall ceiling height and a long galley style kitchen which allows for a working Chef’s Kitchen impact.  The navy shelves really pop against the backdrop of the celery green,  linear stacked glass tiles.
